UrS4 vs. A4 1.8T q

Hi Tihol;
I owned a '94 UrS4 and currently own a '97 UrS6. I've never had trouble
obtaining parts for either car - most parts are interchangeable between the
UrS4 and UrS6 except for some body and trim parts. Both cars have been
ultra-reliable for me and a great ride. These cars are true sleepers - I
believe one of the European car mags rated the '94 UrS4 as No.4 on a Top Ten
Supercars in the World list - it was beaten out by a Lamborghini, a Ferrari,
and the BMW M3 if I remember correctly. I've enjoyed owning, driving and
maintaining both of my UrS cars.
The 15" wheels SHOULD fit if the car has the stock Girling double-piston
front brakes. The '93 UrS4 was a bit of an oddball - it was the most highly
equipped of the UrS cars imported into North America and if it has the
European 4-piston front brakes a 15" wheel may not fit. Make sure it does
not have internal-caliper "UFO" front brakes - the brake rotor looks like a
ventilated "hat" or disc and the caliper is mounted inside the disc. These
were great brakes from a performance standpoint and were standard on the
European '93 but parts for the UFO brakes are very expensive and hard to
get. After the '93 model year Audi "Americanized" the UrS for North America
with a softer suspension.
I used to run 15" alloys from my old '86 5ktq as winter wheels on my '94
UrS.
Looks like a nice example of a '93 in the ad. I notice from the photos that
the boot on the drivers door that covers the wiring has separated from the
door - check the wires for insulation damage. The MAF cover is missing
(common - they are plastic and break) and the injector rail cover is cracked
(also common). One other potential problem to be aware of on the early cars
is pinion bearing failure in the transmission. The early pinions were
over-torqued at the factory and the bearings would fail. The issue was
resolved in mid-1994 or so. If the transmission has a bad whine in all gears
when you drive it, it may have a bad pinion bearing. The first gears in the
early trannys were also on the narrow side and would gall and whine if
abused.
Nice looking car!
Good luck with your decision. If you have any questions, send me an email.

Looking at this and would welcome any pro-counter, advice, BTDT, etc.

Are any UrS4 parts super expensive, unobtainium or ...?
Do 15"X6" flat dish Audi OEM wheels fit the UrS4?
5th and or 6th pics down here:
