IIRC, the strut mount can be replaced with the strut in the car.  To 
answer another comment, if the shaft of the insert is damaged, the 
entire strut does NOT need to be replaced, only the insert.  A special 
tool is required (well, it probably CAN be done without the tool, but I 
wouldn't try it).  This is also an in-the-car job.  With the tool, the 
whole job, insert and strut mount, can be done in about 15 minutes, 
maybe less, and it's done with the car on the ground and the suspension 
loaded.  Might even be easier than changing out the radio .................
