no need to, the 6-speed dsg box on the vw is a good compromise between an
manual and a slush. there are times when having a solid connection through
the transmission is much better than with a torque converter - such as when
towing and cranking hard up hills.  the dsg unit is less convincing when
clutch slipping - it gives a pretty good impression of a auto, just not
totally convincing.
