'91 100q 5 injectors replaced - now car wont start

The mechanic told me that the engine is definitely shot but is unable to diagnose it unless he takes the head off. 

The theory is that moving the car with the starter was the likely culprit. 

Engine has somehow lost compression on 5 cylinders. 

The mechanic followed all the advice given on this list and I am grateful for everyone's input.
