Resurrecting an '86 5KCSTQ

Hello everyone, here I am, back from the undead so to speak ;).

I still have my '86 5KCSTQ and it's been sitting for a while. It still has
less than 80k miles on it and I want to get it running again. I realize
there are many of you who are chortling and snickering under their breath
at this moment. Please allow that impulse to carry itself through fully.

Seriously:

It's been sitting for about 2 years, so I changed the oil and filter
first. No gas in the tank. Charged the battery and got good messages from
the ignition, and she cranked over at least 200 times very easily. However
there is nothing in the way of self-propelling ignition going on there.

I don't think I am getting fuel.

I can't hear the fuel pump running when I turn the key prior to the start
position and no amount of cranking causes even a fart as far as evidence of
ignition is concerned.

I'm thinking I should try running 12 volts straight to the pump with an
assistant to find out if the pump is turning as my next move. We cracked
the fittings at the fuel filter and there wasn't even a trickle after at
least 2 minutes of cranking over about 10 minutes of time.

What do you think?

If I run 12V directly to the pump and something is wrong with the fuel pump
relay will the engine run? It's been a long time since I looked at
something like this so I'd appreciate the help.

Last time I started it, it ran perfectly. I expect it to run perfectly
again, once I can get it to fire.

Thanks,
Alex
