Rick,

Very likely any instructions you have are for LHD drive cars given your 
location below likely you have RHD which means... I have no idea where 
Audi hid the ECU on these, on the NG it is in the passenger side kick 
panel according to:

I can sympathize on your plight, I live in the US but still have a RHD 
SAAB 900 back in Queensland, fun trying to figure out where components 
are at times when I'm back there!  Hopefully some UK based list members 
have some data on the location.
