You repaired the broken wires and found it didn't fix the problem, must be somewhere else.  Troubleshooting this sort of thing requires following tracks on the wiring loom.  It may be a switch or a bad connection ... or a broken wire you didn't happen to find.  Start with a wiring diagram.

Climate control diagnostics were a good place to start, and probably could provide more info.  Here again, service documentation is the best place to start IMO.  Could be a problem in the head or a connection problem.

If there ours any common thread, I'd go with ground, but I doubt there's much to be gained by trying to associate the three.
