V8 troubles

I dont know much about V8s, but:

1. there are several brake warning lights. One for pads (who cares); one for ABS function, one for fluid level. Which is it?
2. There is precious little connection, except possibly ABS sensors which are rally hub sensors that could engage traction control or abs for no reason (maybe that's why it was running poorly, could it have been applying brakes?)

Have you looked at the basics such as pad condition, fluid level?

The brake light KEPT flashing on the dash. I drove it in a circle I'm front of my house and pulled it back in the garage. I didn't seem like it would make it anywhere. I don't know what back brakes and the engine have in common but I really thought the car was going to stall this morning. Any enlightenment would be appreciated. I sure hope there's a connection because otherwise I have two problems.
