Yes, but that won't retract them all the way. As mentioned, some sort of
reader that will retract the parking brake is necessary. Not just a cheapie
code reader, but sometihing that will read/respond to the Brake control
module. I use VAG-COM.
There is no easy work around for this. You can also retract them manually
using voltage (I've never measured it, but would guess it's 12V). However,
this will throw an error and the relearn will have to be done. You will
then need said code reader for this procedure, so as you can see, either
way you need the code reader.
