skinny on tires?

I have run a set of Kuhmos on our allroad and they were okay, about the same as Falkens we have also run on the allroad and a couple of other Audis. The problem is they are good for a little while (~10k miles or so) and once they begin to wear noise, vibration, etc. all sets in for the remaining life of the tire no matter how many trips you make to the tire shop for balancing. The allroad was vastly improved by a set of Bridgestones (Turanza "touring" category no less).

Anyway, take a look at Cooper tires. We recently put a set on our son's 2000 A4 1.8tq as a slightly lower cost alternative to Michelin/Bridgestone/Continental but hopefully better than Kuhmo/Falken/Etc. and so far they are awesome. They are also symmetrical and designed for cross rotating, which could be a huge wear enhancement on a quattro. They came highly recommended by a local shop I used to buy Fuldas from before US import of Fuldas changed and they became scarce.
