Assuming we're talking type 85?

They are great cars, I've had one for 16 years.

Weak points are 'team doorhandle' and the usual problem with rear caliper
handbrake spindle rusting.

The clutch slave cylinder can be tough to remove as it rusts into the
housing.

Headlight switch appreciates relaying, but mines been ok without. 

Rust can occur in all the usual places, but mine has none apart from surface
rust at the bottom of the A pillar near the screen rubber. These are not
galvanized cars.



Everything else - Great!!

Performance mods are limited or very poor bang for buck. NA quattros got a
three branch exhaust manifold and down pipe which releases an extra pony or
two.

Yes OE parts are scarce now, but hey we have ebay these days!
