Heater box flap foam started to disintegrate. Any way to re-enforce it?

The contents of the heater box are lying on a desk. Thanks for Home
Depot pointer. I will check with them today. But I don't recall seeing
a foam with sealed surface, like the one on original flap.
I was thinking about applying thin coat of gasket sealant. Anything I
need to be cautious going this route?

Konstantine.
