timing belt age as a sole replacement indicator

This makes sense since it is relatively accessible on most engines. My belt
is old in years and miles - so I am going to replace it soon - but I am in
the habit of unclipping the top of the cover and looking at the belt every
few weeks.

I'd think that you'd just have to go to the trouble of pulling the S4 V8
engine on the maintenance schedule, though, since the belt & guides are
buried deeply.
