I made my own tool quite a few years ago. Just a little grinding and  
welding, took about 15 minutes. If you search way back in the archives, there  
are a number of posts on how to make one. About the pry bars and such, I 
prefer  the idea of removing a spark plug and filling the cylinder with nylon  
cord.
