There is also the vacuum locks, but those are usually in the trunk.

If its not diff locks then its the climate control system. Those are the only two systems that rely on engine produced vacuum to function.

</div>They moved it around over the years, first install on early 44's was in
the drivers side front fender and I've found them in various other
locations when parting out type 44's over the years.
I never really bothered to figure out what it does, but it's not for the
diff lock, as I've found them in FWD stick and automatics too.
