Honestly, my call would be focus /mazda 3. Handles well, easy to improve
handling and braking with mazda speed 3 parts, the duratec /mzr is a well
charted, reliable motor with adequate power, and with winter tires I just
drove through colorado to a ski trip in my 3 no problem. I'm from mn/nd and
I have no worries about being in snow with my 3.

Cost of maintenance had been fine, and they come in base as it gets up to
gt package with hids and leather. The only thing I don't like is the focus
headlights, they are weak and need upgrading, and avoid the sohc spfi ford
focus motor. Zetec/duratec/mzr fit reliability, the sohc cvh motor is very
unreliable .
