Sorry for the trouble. 
We had our 91 20 valve Turbo taken out by an RTD bus. $6,450 was the estimate. I took the position that they had to make me whole. I accumulated ten pages of documentation (179 cars Imported magazine articles etc etc. and found sister cars for sale in CA. Told them they'd have to pay for a rental and the fuel to get out and back to purchase a similar car. They had me sign a doc that $6,450 would release them and hold them harmless. 

I signed. 

Do the homework and be politely persistent.
