Type 44 rear package shelf vs. audio configuration

If you want good sound from back there, you don't want to mount your 
speakers in the parcel shelf/trunk sheet metal.  You'll want a solidly 
mounted board to install the drivers in.

To hide the scar where the headphones jacks were, just get a piece of 
matching package shelf, cut two neat matching rectangles and let the 
carpet blend to hide the seams.

Or cover it all with said board.
