You can use Vag-com (vcds) to watch real-time timing.. And graph it. But
generally, low load, low rpm driving will not benefit from high octane.
High quality octane comes into play with load, allowing advanced timing,
more power, and more efficiency. So a small engine will benefit more in
everyday driving than say a 6.2L small block.
