B5 S4 steering noise

I just know early VAG products have a steering tube with shaft located
inside. The shaft has a bearing at either end. They usually have heavy
grease on both bearings.
This noise actually sounds more like something rubbing inside the column.
You may have to take the unit apart if possible and look for signs of
rubbing or wear.
Be aware this is all conjecture and I have no experience with this
particular vehicle. Writing this may encourage others with more knowledge
to perk up hopefully.

I don't know, if there is, how would one go about lubing it?
