I guess it's time for me to chime in ;)

I've been driving Audi 5 cyl cars since 1986:

1. 1980 5000s, I think it had about 150k miles, abandoned after I
lightly rear-ended someone in the snow and the car felt "loose and
rattly" afterwards, so I let the insurance company buy it from me.

2. 1983 5000 turbo. Great car, it was like driving in the palm of a
great silverback gorilla's hand, it did whatever I wanted when I wanted.
Sold it to a Boston drug dealer when it was having wastegate issues.
Stuck open, an 85 hp pig. Stuck closed, an undriveable race car.

3. 1982 Coupe. It's out in my field still, last time I tried to start
it it would only run on ether. Sidelined due to most of the brake lines
rotting away. 315 K, despite dead odo years.

4. 1989 90Q (black). Used it for over a decade, abandoned due to very
old body work decaying, at 290 K. The engine went to Force 5 to repair
an 87.5 coupe. Chris: "it's an Audi five cylinder and it ran when you
parked it? It's good."

5. 1988 90Q (grey, but mostly undercoat), the current machine. Odo was
dead, of course. Stole the cluster with repaired odo from the black car
first thing. It's at 305 K now.
