Me and the missus had the pleasure of meeting John Larson many years ago, I think it have been around 2002, and when I announced to the list that we were visiting 'la-la land' as he called it, he was one of the people who invited us to visit.

 We had a trip out to one of his favourite BBQ haunts - The hitching Post outside Santa Maria, with his soon to be second wife, whose name regrettably now escapes me. I know he had a son also, although I never met him.

 At that time he had A6 wagon and a 20V N/a engined 90 or was it a coupe? Also a VW bus with a Porsche flat 6 in it, I think he was also something of a guru on the Porsche 914.

 You always think you're going to meet up sometime for another great evening again don't you?

 He was straight talking no nonsense and big hearted. He was most definitely one of life good guys
