A month ago today we lost a great fan of Audi, Steve Zlotkin. Around here he's best known for owning EuroSpecSport and having the greatest collection of vintage Audi race cars outside of the factory museum. He was also the owner and founder of Overland Parts which is huge in the VW community.

This one hit really close to home for me. I was corresponding with Steve for a couple months on a project and had spoken to him about an hour before he had a sudden heart attack in his office. The last email I sent him contained a photo of him in a beautiful four wheel drift in his Audi 200 Trans-Am at Laguna Seca earlier this year that an acquaintance of mine had snapped. His son, Ben, contacted me a few days later looking to purchase the photo as it is one of that last pictures of Steve enjoying his toys.

Bringing it closer to home for me though is to think that Steve was just about a year older than my father is currently and the most recent photo I think I have of him is racing his historic 914-6 at Indianapolis earlier this year. Definitely has made me make sure to try extra hard when we are pushing cars around the shop to make him have to push less.
