LOL! So far all I need to deal with is it running like crap, especially cold. I smoke tested it and found vacuum leaks at the injectors (duh) and the lower port of the intake boot for the breather is cracked. I'll likely silicone that. One injector was stuck so hard it friggen broke in half and the bottom promptly fell into the intake port so yesterday I pulled the intake manifold to fish that out. Once I get the vacuum leaks square I'll warm it up and play with the mixture a bit then see how it behaves cold.
It had no brakes and I found a leaking rear wheel cylinder which I changed yesterday. Other than that it's a decent car. Might see if the guy wants the springs though ;-).
On the engine, recall that I know little about the non-turbo cars, but I know it's the 2.2l not the 2.3l engine. Fortunately my lack of experience with CIS-E (plenty with non E) is backed up by wonderful resources like Audi.humanspeakers.com!
