I had to laugh the other day when I was at the Mercyless Benz dealership
a friend works at, and the used car sales manager comes in all pissed off
because the $225 Mercedes charged for the 2 minutes of programming time
on a tranny module was coming out of their depts budget.  The dealer
charges customers around $450 for the job.

The drivetrains of even the cheapest of cars lasts way beyond the
economic viability of the myriad of electronics.
