Good thought, Kent, but silly me got the problem wrong. After much more
carefully comparing the V8 A-pillar trims with those of my 5kcs, it is
clear the two are actually quite different in shape at the bottom end. The
V8 trims obviously (now!) will not work. The parts were presumably altered
when the later style dashboard was introduced. ('90 V8, '91 20V, '90
100/200?) but the molded-in part numbers where left completely unchanged.
Three different part numbers, actually. None were changed.
So I am definitely on the hunt for black A-pillar trims for a 5000CS.
Thanks,
DeWitt
