Running hot

There seem to be varying opinions on whether that fuel pump is acceptable
or not. I have got it idling at about 900 so it seems to be working. I
replaced the radiator fan sending unit just recently so that is not the
problem.
I am replacing the coolant temperature sensor. It rests on the side of the
engine right at/before the coolant hose inlet on the bottom side. It is
directly above the location of the thermostat.
I am wondering if the fan is indeed only functioning in high speed because
it is so loud and obnoxious. But since the radiator fan sender is less
than a year old and the fan did that since I put it in as did the old one,
I don't think that is the culprit.
It does seem like the fan comes on too often. I am hoping that getting the
radiator cleaned will help.
