Are the 5k and 4k door handles different?

It will fit but will not activate (open) the door latch!
The 4k door section is thicker, the finger from the door handle is longer.A Mk2 Golf door handle will work if you swap in the longer finger from a 4k door handle, but usually that is the one that breaks on a 4k.
