The parts are only the same if every digit (and letter) is the same.

Thus

443 123 456 A
853 123 456 A

are different parts doing the same thing in different chassis.

Also, you'll see "43x" and "44x" parts all over the type 85 and 89 
because the large chassis cars were developed first, especially in the 
latter example.

>   I'm assuming you mean the outer ones? I took four handles off an 1986 audi 200 which is the same as your 5000. I used two of them on my ur Quattro turbo which is same as your 4000 with no problem at all. The only difference I could see was the metal insert was black on the 200 and bare metal on the ur Quattro. Mk2 Golf handles fit a 4k perfectlyIf not the inner ones are totally different . Hope that helps
