Back at the dawn of my memory (early 60's) a friend's father bought a
Ferrari GTO and hired Maston Gregory (dim recollection) to drive it at Sebring
for him. As I recall they made four laps before hitting a bridge. The car
was brought home to Rhode Island somewhat mangled. The metal was straighten
but a windshield proved elusive. The owner wanted to drive it and recognized
Rhode Island for what it is. So, he had windshield wipers welded straight
up so that it looked like they were supported by a windshield and drove it
(occasionally ) for several months until a windshield arrived.
