Hi Andrew, I searched email history to see what you owned in terms of
Audi. I gather that you were a proud longtime owner of an ’87 4kq, and
that ownership came to an end recently. Can I ask what the final "bridge
too far" in terms of repair that made you decide to let go of it? Those
are nice cars!
I also gather than you moved on to something other than Audi? That seems
to be a common theme. People who owned Audi's of the 1980's to early 90's
hanging on to them dearly, and when the time comes to move on, they're's no
newer model that they feel will capture the magic of their prior Audi..or
perhaps its exists, but in a model that's neither good value in terms of
cost of purchase, ownership, repairs, etc..
So after a 4kq you weren't tempted to look at a TT or A4 (as I'm currently
doing)? Or move up to SUV nirvana with a Q7 or the like?
There ought to be an emotional support group for those who have loved and
parted with their Audis...I may be about to join :-)
Best
MC
