I hadn't even noticed the lapse in group continuity.
There is so little traffic on here.
I dislike FB, the format does not lend itself to this kind of thing. I
was on other mailing lists that tried moving to FB, they all died a slow
death there.
I haven't even bothered to log in to FB in the last 6 months or so.
The Large Chassis Audi page on FB seems to be mostly Euro participants.
I may try the Large Chassis forum to unload my cache of Audi Parts. I
sold 4 V8 rear light bars to ex-Soviet protectorates on that FB page, and
the deals all went through without hitches. I still can't believe no one
balked at the ridiculous shipping charges.
On that note, I recently threw out 4 trash barrels full of Unobtainum
(mostly 5000, 200 and V8 pulled parts.) Still have 4 or 5 large plastic
tubs full of them that have to go. Cleaning house. I got some interest
on the FB page for the 90 200TQA, but as seems the norm on FB, people
just dissolve into the ether after showing great interest at first.
Reality likely slaps them upside the face given enough time.
As for Audi's, I'm pretty much done with them. The last "real" Audi's
for me were the torsen diff up to mid 90's models. Those require more
time and effort than I'm willing to give at this stage in life. Plus,
honestly, there are SO many better and reliable cars out there which
require zero attention compared to these old war horses. Not looking for
a debate, just a fact or two and MHO. I still like the "refrigerator"
solid feel, that's why my current rides are 124 Merciless' Benz's in
benzine and diesel, all the solidness without the constant maintenance,
and no problem finding parts when occasionally needed.
I am still using the Juno interface, which physically archives emails on
my computer in a DB file. I have been cleaning them out, but still have
what looks like 10k audifans emails still in the DB. I kept them to
facilitate searches when needed, I don't know if they'd be of any use to
anyone, if so, let me know, when the last of my 4 Ringers goes, the DB
goes with them.
Sorry to have droned on, but it's been a while. Glad to see some
familiar names pop up.
BCNU,
Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.
