Re: [20v] ‘91 coupe hesitates on acceleration

Hi George,

The symptom are when the car warms up the engine cuts off every second at
idle. This is very subtle.

As I accelerate, the engine cut off becomes a lot more pronounced and will
actually rock the car.

Sometimes, when I pull to a parking spot or take a turn, the engine will
stall.

When I pulled the codes, I got TPS and idle stabilizer which I replaced with a
new unit.

The CQ got a timing belt at 240k along with plugs, distributor cap, rotor,
plugs, etc and was driving fine for about 5000 miles.

I cleaned the ISV.

cutting off at highway speeds and also at 60 kms/hr in city driving when using
the 4th gear. As always, pull the codes and see what you get, if it is a knock
sensor you will get a fault code guaranteed
