those who have a soft spot for the i-5 audi would love this video.  it has cameos for hans stuck, walter röhrl  hurley haywood and others like peter lietner (the designer of the i5 engine) and ulrich baretzky (v10, v12, fsi etc) with some great footage from the 80’s on rally and circuit.

a nice line from early in the video "back then, this is audi, a teachers car…” 

also some hilarious video clips of ferdinand piëch and the audi executive team looking like extras in a ‘b’ horror movie, and piëch himself looking like a dead ringer for christopher waltz from “inglourious basterds” :-)

i had forgotten the magic of the sound of a racing 5, and the thrill of hearing a group b rally car, powered by that i5 engine coming closer over a twisty gravel road…

i still have fond memories of a private dinner with walter rohrl where he talked about those years, and of him driving my ur-quattro 20v around a circuit with me hanging on in the passenger seat...
