[s-cars] Oil Leak!

And for another point of view, in the 60,000 miles I've had my S4, I have
never changed the drain plug washer. Snug it up with 3/8 ratchet, it is
plenty tight when I remove it, and it never leaks. Not that I'm that cheap,
but as B.B. from the 200 list would say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, if
the glove don't fit, you must acquit, etc, etc.

I had changed my oil about three months ago... I always use Mobil 1,
factory filter and the copper crush drain plug washers... and I'm very
careful to do a good job always, but have always made it a habit to just get
the filter decent "hand tight" and also to not tighten the drain plug too
much (not cranking on the socket arm when tightening it... just decently
tight). I had always believed they tighten themselves to some extent.
No, Dan, they don't. The drain plug is 50Nm. Or better yet, buy yourself
a Sumoto quick drain plug, that's all.
