Dave, If you are hoping that there was a significant improvement made to
that hose between the S4 and S6, let me shatter your dreams. My 95 S6 avant
Michelin Man hose looked normal, other than some oil around the ends.
Replacing this with its silicone equivalent made a big difference in the
power delivery (butt dyno.)  I did not see any cracks or splits. I have to
assume that at least part of the problem was the wimpy factory clamps. ECS
offers a complete set of really beefy T-clamps for all the Turbo hoses for
just $36 (I think). IMO, anyone who goes through the trouble of replacing
the hoses without upgrading the clamps is not getting the most out of their
time or money.
