Word from my brother's uncle's sister's cousin, who knows a guy, who's
giving the chick at the Minnetonka (sp?) Marriot the business is that
some wild eyed red-haired kid came in the other day, started
hyperventilating (on the verge of crying really) and between very rapid
loud shallow inhales / exhales started spouting off something about
needing to cancel a contract. At first they couldn't really understand
what in the hell this guy was saying (spasing out, remember) so he gets
even more desperate and pointed outside to some Mercury [sic]
ecks-R[(4+4 )/4]-tea-Aye! that was leaking oil on their brand new
driveway (damn!) and threatened to abandon the car there (including the
mismatched tires, the primer colored left rear fender, and the different
colored driver's door that he just sourced from a junk yard).
With that, the wheels (so to speak) got set into motion and the hotel
offered to reduce Darin's liability to $700. Being the shrewd negotiator
that he is, he jumped at the chance and put it on his Usury Visa Lead
Card, where he will be paying off the high rate balance over the next 30
years (along with that new, to him, driver's door).
The real sad part about the story is that the hotel was willing to go as
far as paying Darin $700 just to leave the premises. You shoulda stuck
around and held out for more, Ace.
Anyway, so the people behind the front desk gave Darin a push-start and
sent him on his happy way and he trundled along the shores of Lake
CumonIwannalayu spewing unburnt hydrocarbons, and white (or was that
blue) smoke from a blown turbo seal, and he lived happily ever after.
So, with that, our hero, Darin "The Kid" Nederhoff removed his resume
from contention at Dairy Queen, and started to think about what he
REALLY wanted to be when he grows up.
The general manager at the Marriot was heard saying, "That boy just
ain't right."
Even so, glad you dodged a bullet son.
