[s-cars] Valentine 1 remote display

Huh... cool idea. Pretty cool use of a useless space in the inst cluster
since we get no trip computer after '92. Anyways, I think it would be a
cleaner looking install if the V1 remote mount was mounted behind a
translucent piece of ABS plastic... kinda like some idiot light panels that
look like the stock regular ABS plastic unless the light behind it is lit
up. If the factory V1 lights weren't bright enough, I'm sure you could
easily rig up something with LED's in the directional placement. I guess my
point is the best install would be one where you really didn't know anything
was there.

I'd be interested to see your install and how you rig it up when you do it
Charlie.

But, this procedure got me thinking on something else... If it's relatively
easy to pull the IC apart like this, is it easy to get the clear plactic
piece that is the cover seperated from the body of the IC? I have some
light scratches in mine that show up when in the sun. I'm not in a hurry to
replace it and you can't see them 90% of the time, but when and if I replace
the bulbs in there and the IC has to come out anyways, I was thinking I
might try to replace the clear plastic cover for the IC. Has anyone else
done this???? Is this a seperate PN from Audi?

I'd be interested to find out how this could be done.

Later,
Dan
