I had mine replaced, but 4 years later, it messed up again. The mechanic
told me that in his garage, the ratio of bad ignition switches on VW/Audis
is 4-5x higher than on other German cars he services, and has been that way
since the late 70's models.

Hans and Klaus must have a deep parts bin of trashy switches. NHTSA has
filed more than 4,500 claims against VW/Audi for bad ignition switches.

Do you think my next car will be an Audi?
