Subject: [s-cars] New urS Cabin Accessory?
<snip>
Bill m - I'll write the BTDT if someone can tell answer no.'s 2 and 4
above.
I'll give it a try. And I reserve the right to be corrected! (*grin*)
1.) Windows version due out in 4 weeks. Unless yu're Mac already.
Got that covered. Love my iMac! (Even though mine doesn't have a cool,
sexy flat screen)
2.) How to neatly tap into the cars power supply.
Could use the existing wire that leads to the Bose head unit. Or, run a
wire to the driver's side footwell area near the relay board. There's a
bunch of easily accessable 'hot' posts to tap into quite easily.
4.) Hard wire into the bose would be real nice, but is it possible?
My guess is Yes. But no BTDT. If the CD changer inputs a signal to the
head unit, than there has to be a way to tap into that same wire(s).
Other listers?
6.) A lightly spring loaded take up reel to tension the wires when the unit
is pulled our.
Now that sounds just like a cellular phone display board.
The iPod is great. Because it only has 4 (6?) buttons and it is easy to
operate, it'll just give us s-car loving drivers one more thing to be
distracted by while on the road.
...and one more thing to have to train the S.O. to do. (oh boy...)
