the differential piston sizing is intended to compensate for the fact
that the leading edge of the pad (the edge of the pad that the rotor
sees first as it's spinning) has a tendency to toe in.
i agree - it's not a good idea to switch the calipers around. you'll
get a lot of tapered wear on the pads.
