This is a subject I have researched.
Everybody to whom I have spoken in the business, US and Germany, tells me t=
hat the FM interface is not worth installing, very poor sound quality.
As far as the iPod is concerned, the interface is Firewire, apart from Mac =
and Sony owners, how many people have that?
phatnoise have a system which replaces the CD Changer and has been adopted =
by Kenwood, it works particularly well with Concert and Symphony radios
Systems based on the IBM Microdrive can interface to the PC Card interface =
in laptops.
I am running with a solution that integrates the mp3 player and Digital Sat=
 radio with the Audi Navigation System Plus - this way you get TV, External=
 video, CD, radio, Sat radio, mp3, telephone, traffic alerts, navigation pr=
ompting, telematics, GSM phone, with all muting and GALA functions operatin=
g correctly. As you might imagine, this has been a lot of research and its =
not a cheap solution.
