1993 S4 99,000 miles (yes, just turned today)

Just took an afternoon jaunt down to Ben & Jerry's factory for a Sunday ice
cream/tour with the wife and daughter. A/C on the whole trip (40 minute
drive) I noticed that the fans stayed on high speed after I shut off the
engine. Hmmm, ok this is the first I've heard this... Normally when I've got
the A/C on and shut off the engine - that fans shut off as well. They should
go to single speed or a single fan should stay on right?

About an hour and half later, after two cones and a tour - yup the fans were
both struggling to stay on high speed. As I turned the key over I knew the
outcome - click, click... "Hey girls, uhhhhh we've got to bump start Rory."
Birkenstocks sinched down I put all I could into the B piller and started to
back it up on the Vermont B&J gravel parking lot. Worked great until we
needed that extra 6ft to make it back enough to clear a Lincoln (damn land
yacht!). So, two guys came to our rescue and gave us the added umph to push
it backwards uphill. They looked at me like "why is he trying to bump start
that big car thing"? Little do they know about German 5spds. Great spot for
the battery to go flat. Anywho, all I did was bump start it in second gear -
downhill, then on to RT100 back home.

Anyway, at least the Ice cream was great. This is the absolute first time
our trusty //S4 has acted up. Being Bently'less what temp sensor, where (or
what) has caused this? Should it be the radiator fan A/C temp sensor? Any
BTDTs with this one? I checked the voltage right after the trip and I'm at
12.78v with no load.

Regards,
Thompson
