[s-cars] A good weekend with a couple of UrS4 guys...

I was in Columbus this weekend, and had the chance to get together with a
couple of list members and check out there cars.

Saturday I visited Charlie Smith and saw his 1995 S6. I went there to pick up
some near new Dunlop SP 8000 tires in the stock 16" size for my car that he
didn't need and was really great to offer them to me at an awesome price!
Charlie sure knows his stuff, and in the hour or so I spent there I learned a
lot about the "little things" in my 1992.

He also took me for a ride in his car...WOW, the car pulls like crazy! He has
an IA chip and a few other things and boy does the car run strong. It looks
great with the Avus 17x8 wheels too!

I then had the tires installed at Discount Tire and the car drives much
better! The snow tires on the car just didn't cut it in the 100 degree heat!

Today I had the chance to meet Dave Burig and checked out his 1993 S4. Dave
took a little time out from getting ready for his son's 5th Birthday Party to
meet with me. After looking at and comparing stuff on our cars, we traded
keys and went for a fun little low speed drive around Columbus (well, maybe
not actually low speed...)

His car is nice, I kind of wish I had the carbon fiber in the 1992 :(

I also discovered something about my car after riding behind it in Dave's
1993...my car SMOKES a bit under full throttle. I don't notice it when I am
driving, but when Dave was in my car I saw puffs of dark smoke each time we
pulled hard on the straight roads. The car drives fine, no hesitation, no
sputtering, and gets full boost, anyone have any ideas on what it could be? I
have been on it hard, but not as hard as today...

Good thing I am taking it in for a new owner "check up" on Tuesday!

All in all a great weekend of Audi fun!
