[s-cars] Heat wave is over.....car feels very strong!

On the East Coast we've had a few weeks of straight high 90 degree days with
very high humidity -- the sort of day that makes your turbo car feel slow.
The heat wave broke today, and we had mid to low 80's, with low humidity.

Driving home, my car felt exceptionally strong. At first I thought it was
just the change in weather, but then I noticed it was pulling 20 inches of
vacuum on my boost gauge at idle. This is by far the highest idle reading
I've seen on my car(s), with 17 inches being "normal", and anything 15
inches or below resulting in a noticable decrease in performance. At 15
inches, I'll generally find a vacuum leak that will bring me back to 17".
There seems to a direct correlation between vacuum readings and HP.

Any ideas on how/why the sudden increase in vacuum and HP, and what might
cause it (so I can keep it this way!!!!)For those with boost guages, what
vacuum readings do you see as "normal"?

Bob
