Subject: [s-cars] Accelerator Pedal Removal? Replacements?

I took a suggestion of another lister and bought a
small hinge from a hardware store. I attached it at
the factory hinge point to the accelerator(with 2
small nuts and bolts) and mounting base(with supplied
screws). You can see the two small bolts on the pedal
but it worked slick and I still have that nice spring
action. 3 months and no problems. Total cost: $1.65!
Or you can pay Audi the $70 for the whole unit.

After several weeks of waiting, I finally took
ownership of a *beautiful* '93 black urS4 today! My
neighbor thought I was taking delivery of a brand new
car! (Granted, they new nothing of Audi's ;-))
And now for my first parts question ...
My accelerator pedal is busted (the black surface
piece apparently has snapped off)

How do you remove the whole pedal? I'll need to rig
up a dental mirror to see the fasteners... Is it in
the Bentley CD?
Should I bother replacing it (if so, where can I order
it) or should I put in aluminum pedals? Anyone have
or know where to get pedals of similar size/fitment of
the OE pedals?
TIA,
