Well, I had several odd mods that have been sitting around for me to get done
and today was the day. I mounted a set of Sparco clutch, brake, and gas
pedals and replaced my Momo Short Anatomic with a Sparco Ultra Low shift
knob. The shift knob was a snap and lowered the height down some 1 1/2". My
1st to 2nd gear throw is now 4". Could someone with a non short shift kit
transmission check their throw so we can evaluate?

The brake and clutch were straight forward but did require me to drill
through the steel pedals. I had been using Razo pedals and the mounting of
the Sparcos was far superior IMO. I had a broken gas pedal which actually
aided in my installation of the Sparco pedal. I also had the benefit of a
brand new Audi pedal to look at. Sparco makes several gas pedals and I had
the smaller curved one and the larger flat one on my bench to compare. I
ended up using the larger flat pedal. I had to cut off the top 3" to make
things fit. I also had to drill several additional mounting holes since the
originals interfered with the stiock hinge location. One piece of advice that
I didn't see on this mornings posts about R&R of the stock pedal is to remove
the 2 clips at the under hood throttle hook up to give you maximum play with
the braided steel cable.

The pedals look real sharp and they must be worth an additional 10 hp at the
wheels. The lower shift knob in concert with the Rudak short shift kit and
the Amoroso lead-boot filled shift shaft give me a superb feeling
transmission. It feels so good I just like running through the gears to feel
it;-)
