[s-cars] Thank you Bob Pastore! (the sequel), and my annoying boost problem

Shit guys, Thanks!

But enough of this stuff already, you're freakin' me out. I feel like I'm
at my own funeral !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And don't forget I work for Vodka
Futures, not for free!

Let's help Bruce solve this problem -- I'm baffled:

Problem: Car runs fine, but boost backs off to 10 PSI while keeping your
foot in it. After backing off, springs back to full boost, then cycles
back and forth. No stumble or miss, just a lack of boost. The It does
throw codes (check engine light flashes), but my laptop wasn't cooperating
yesterday, so I couldn't get Vag-Com to talk to the ECU.

Changed:

MAF
Injectors
Software
ECU & Software
WGFV
Cam Position sensor changed recently (but I don't know the timing of this
change versus occurrence of the problem.)

Looking at my Motronic manual, the following sensors (in spiffy random
order) could affect boost levels:

Barometric Pressure sensor
Full throttle/Throttle Position Sensor
Intake air temp sensor
Knock Sensors

I know we have to pull the codes and trust what they tell us. Besides that,
what should be look at next?

Bob

me try to solve a tough problem with my car. Oh, and he let me use parts off
his car to try on mine, too! :) Not only that, but when we dropped a part
into the pan while HE WAS TRYING TO FIX MY CAR, and I had a meeting in 1/2
hour and could not get dirty, HE GOT FILTHY GETTING THE PART BACK! Sorry,
Bob, I owe you a shirt! Seriously.

Once we are on the subject, I would like to add a few words of my own
gratitude to Bob. I can't imagine what did I do to deserve his
generosity.
- He has set me up with one of the coolest things that I have in my car.
For free!
- He has set me up with the second coolest thing that I have in my car,
for half the going rate, because he did a lot of recearch and managed to
find a solution which was not only better but also cheaper to boot. And
has generously shared the idea and the hardware wiht me.
- He had loaned me a whole bunch of his AAN timing belt tools on my say
so, and those were not even needed for myself, but rather for yet
another good friend and fellow lister, whom I had promised help in the
timing belt replacement.

Thank you ever so much. I am honoured to count you among my friends,
Bob! It goes w/o saying that I will be always there for you as well.
