True Design Wheel in Wheatridge quoted me $75 per 16x8 S4 alloy
for chunk repair welds and refinishing.

They were recommended to me and when I queried Pete at the Tire
Source in Boulder, he said "Oh yeah, we send stuff to them".

$150 sounds high, unless it's for something like the 2" dimple in
the RR 16x8 Fuchs on my SC.  Do NOT whip a cookie into a parking
spot with a big wet oil stain!

I switch from 225 Wintracs on 17x8 for winter to AVS Sports for
summer.  There are many aftermarket wheel choices that cost less
than the Avus rims and weigh less without giving up strength.  The
styles available may not be to your tastes, 'tho.
