I have a 1995.5 S6 wagon, lowered with Eibachs, with 235/45 Yoko AVS db tires mounted on 8 x17 wheels with 35 mm offset.
The front tires rub the inner fender liner on moderate bumps, especially when turning.Obviously, it is the outside tire which contacts the fender. Seattle/Bellevue streets leave a lot to be desired!
I am contemplating installing camber plates to correct the accelerated wear the inside of the tires experience.
The problem that I anticipate is the rubbing will get more severe as I tip the top of the struts out to correct the camber induced by the shorter springs!
I assume the obvious solution is to install wheels with more offset, or less width, or both, I do hate to give up the width though!
Any alternative solutions?
What are your thoughts on solving this problem? Anyone been there, done that??
What wheels offer a solution? I would like to go to an Avus style wheel, preferably 17 inch, maybe 18.
Thanks
